Sabrina Slade Joins John Rex Endowment Team
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sabrina Slade as Social Innovation Director, effective April 1, 2019.
Slade who has more than 20 years of experience with nonprofits and foundations in North Carolina, comes to the Endowment from the Winston-Salem Foundation, where she was initially Director of the Women’s Fund, then most recently the Director of Strategic Initiatives. Other posts included Director of Development and Communications at the Horizons Center in Rural Hall, N.C.; Vice President of the YWCA’s Glade Street Branch, Winston-Salem; and several key positions with the United Way of Forsyth County. She earned her B.A. from UNC-Charlotte and her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
"We are thrilled Sabrina will be joining our team with her passion, her experience of working on behalf of children and families and her engagement with racial and gender equity," says Kellan Moore, John Rex Endowment president and CEO. "Her proven track record of working with nonprofits, communities and boards to develop equitable frameworks for grantmaking and establish impact criteria for advocacy efforts is the expertise and experience we need to effectively implement our new Strategic Roadmap," she added.
A Note from Sabrina:
My background in overseeing initiatives that promote gender and racial equity along with my personal commitment to social justice helps position me to design initiatives that further the mission. The Endowment’s intentional focus on building organizational capacity and shaping policy at the community and systems level ultimately sharpens our equity lens and increases possibilities for all children and families in Wake County to thrive. I feel privileged to be a part of this exciting journey with the Endowment.
