We are pleased to announce the John Rex Endowment’s 2020 competitive funding opportunity calendar. In May we will release the Nonprofit Capacity Building Request for Proposals (RFP). This funding area is to support nonprofits' ability to assess and strengthen their infrastructure in order to deliver quality programming more effectively and efficiently. Grant awards will be made in October. This is the only RFP scheduled for release in 2020. We are in conversation with our active grantees whose projects are candidates for additional funding through expansion opportunities.

In 2019 we offered two competitive funding opportunities that aligned with our Strategic Roadmap. What we learned from the experience is that there is tremendous need, and the issues affecting children and their families are intertwined and complex. As a result, the foundation’s work in 2020 is to refine how we can have the greatest impact in our county. We will be doing research, analysis and community engagement to shape our thinking.
